The lovely Kerry from Mrs Lister Writes... wrote a great blog post today, based on the Q&A section of the Guardian Magazine on a Saturday. Like her, I often read that column and think “dick” as opposed to “awww”. She filled in the questions with her own answers (which you can see here), and has asked me to do the same. So here goes!
Which living person do you most admire, and why?
My younger sister, Hannah. Her resilience and strength is inspiring.
When were you happiest?
I think my happiest period is yet to come. I like to think so, anyway. Every day can be better than yesterday, if you want it to be.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
Turning up on my first day at work at a well known luxury store, and finding out the manager had fucked up and hired me for the wrong job (several tiers lower than the one I had told everyone I was doing). I felt like a right prat.
Aside from property, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought?
My car. But I’ve had it for ten years, so I think I’ve got a decent amount of wear out of it…
What is your most treasured possession?
My creativity.
Where would you like to live?
Sweden.
What’s your favourite smell?
Clean sheets.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Ralph Fiennes
What is your favourite book?
The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge. Magical.

I can be very anally retentive about things being done “my way”.
What would be your fancy dress costume of choice?
I do a CRACKING George Michael (hero).
What is your earliest memory?
Climbing out of my cot in our apartment in Boston, MA. I went into my parent’s bedroom and my mum was ironing.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrve The Only Way Is Essex. Although, I’m not even guilty about it. Pleasure is pleasure.
What do you owe your parents?
My Mum and Step-Dad have always shown me a LOT of love.
To whom would you most like to say sorry, and why?
No-one. I apologise straight away if I feel I’ve done wrong or hurt someone. I’d hate to think someone needed an apology from me.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My Japanese Oak coffee table that my grandfather had made in the 1960s. I fucking love that thing.
What does love feel like?
Supreme acceptance and bliss.

My first ever snog. I had nothing to compare it to.

“No, I’m not the ACTUAL Ralph Fiennes”
What is the worst job you’ve done?
I have done so, so, so many shit jobs. So many. So. Many.
If you could edit your past, what would you change?
Not a lot. I’ve made some catastrophic errors, but I’ve learned a lesson from every single one.
What is the closest you’ve come to death?
Having pneumonia as a child. It was well shit.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My loyalty to the people I love.
When did you last cry, and why?
My cat died a couple of weeks ago, I’d had her for 14 years. I was/am devastated.
How do you relax?
With a Slanket.
What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
A lottery win. Seriously – I have it all planned out.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
You can either fix a problem, or you can’t. If you can – no need to worry. If you can’t – what’s the point of worry?
